Random Thoughts, Random Boys

Well, I was thinking about blogging about choir rehearsal today. The thoughts that run through my mind are quite humorous! Some of the thoughts I had last night included "Bitch please, that is not the note! I know you don't think you're going to sing over me!" and "Ah, weird tenor guy who smells bad, stop looking at me! I can feel your eyes on the back of my head!" and "Oh my god. Seriously, that woman has a wide neck! It's like the size of my thigh." and "Ah. if we have to subdivide one more time, I'm going to stab myself in the eye with my pencil. Damn it, I must have dropped my pencil! What the hell am I going to stab myself with?!?" I'm slightly insane, but you guys probably already guessed that!

Let's back up to about half an hour before rehearsal. I was at that time stuffing my face full of tacos, trying to eat as much as I could before sitting through almost three hours of rehearsing. As I was busy stuffing my face, my cell phone started to ring. I did the decent thing of deciding not to answer it, because, well ew! Who wants me to answer the phone with a mouthful of food? My mom is one of those people who talks with her mouth full, and it is a pet peeve of mine. Anyhow, I figured it was one of my friends and they'd probably leave me a voicemail, which I could return after dinner.

As I checked the missed call on my cell phone, I realized it was from a number I couldn't place. I thought the area code was for the city of Chicago, but as I don't really have but one or two friends who live in Chicago, I couldn't figure out who it was. As I sat and thought about it, I remembered that this number has appeared on my phone a few times before, once resulting in a very inaudible voicemail, and the other two times the person didn't leave a voicemail at all. Who could it be? Well, duh, maybe the voicemail might be a clue. As I listened to the voicemail, the call was finally audible. The message as heard was "Hey, this is Rasheed. Call me back when you get this. Bye."

Rasheed?? In Chicago? My brain was curious. The only person I knew of named Rasheed was my friend Nicole's cousin. Nicole was on health staff this summer, and we both wanted to go to Chicago on session break. It was Nicole who suggested that we stay with her cousin Rasheed because he was an extra cool guy, our age, and had a great apartment in Chicago. To make a long story short, we stayed with Rasheed, and everything she said was true. He had a great apartment, he was 25, and he was also super down to Earth, the type of guy you felt like you had known for years. As we left he said "Hey it was great meeting you Tamara. If you're ever in Chicago again, give me a call for sure." That was our parting words. I never really expected to meet him again, I just figured he'd Facebook me or something.

So, if this is Nicole's cousin (I'm not sure of that at this point), why is he calling me now? I'm so utterly confused. My only guess is that perhaps Nicole called me on his phone some point when we were doing our own thing in Chicago? And possibly he has my number on his phone but didn't realize who it belonged to, and called someone else? I'm confused. The chicken in me didn't have the nerve to call the number back, but I did do the passive aggressive move of sending a text message. My message was: "Hey this is Tamara. I don't know this number but you've called me a few times. Who is this? I'll call you back if I know you."

As of today, no call back. I have no idea what to think! Utterly and completely random.

I'm cracking up at your choir rehearsal comments. Those are things I say to myself about other people and various situations.

Oh and I would of texted (sp?) the guy back, too. :P
