The Past Week

TGIF!!! Today was my official day off, because I am going to be doing lots of work over the weekend. I'm going to be finishing up an assignment, doing my state and city taxes (did the federal in January), doing more sketches for a fake PSA (we're trying to tell kids that energy drinks are bad for you... so we're trying to make it look like a Red Bull ad), and hopefully I'll throw some time in there for exercise, too. I'm trying to get back in to shape... but after being excited to see I lost two pounds last week when I went to the gym, I saw that I gained those two pounds back when I weighed in today! Two steps forward... two steps back?

I spent Wednesday and Thursday at Genesee County Health Department's convention... snoozefest! Well, actually to be fair, there were a few really awesome speakers. One woman we had came from Washington DC, worked for the CDC, so that was pretty cool to hear from the big wigs of health on what is going on. There was another woman who actually is working with Obama's administration on lowering childhood lead poisoning, and she gave a really great lecture. They also apparently paid $30,000 to have this tony award winning actress named Sarah Jones come and perform a monologue as the closing keynote speaker... she was AMAZING. She did all these different characters from different racial/cultural backgrounds addressing congress about some of the health disparities they face... hard to explain, but trust me, she was awesome. What was even more impressive is that she had been requested by Michelle Obama just last week to do a performance for her... lol so that was very cool to know I have shook hands with an actress who just performed for the first lady last week.

So anyhow... yeah, that's what I've mainly been up to this past week! Now I'm watching what seems to be a mini House marathon on USA, and getting ready to call it an early night. But before I go, I decided to do that album thing that Robin and Evonne did... (sorry, I didn't repost the rules... I figure you all know it by now!)

Wow! Your album cover looks really cool. It looks like a real cover! Very vintage 1980's-ish. :-D

Thanks, lol I thought it looked pretty cool, too. I just wish I would have made the font at the bottom a little bigger... I didn't like the way it saved as a JPEG.
