Another A2 Visit

Thanks for all the congratulations! I really appreciate everyones well wishes! I can say even after that moment of joy last night, I still don't really believe that it is done. I still feel stress on my shoulders, but I guess it will take a while for the accomplishment to really sink in.

Tonight in Muskegon there was a benefit concert for my friend Jenn. Obviously she is unable to attend since she is in the hospital, but I decided to skip the concert (and the 2 and a half hour drive to Muskegon) to instead visit with her in Ann Arbor (a 45 minute drive.) Before I got there she told me she wasn't sure if she'd be up for a long visit, because she wasn't having a great day. Her oxygen stats keep dropping super low (below 80) when she sleeps, and it stops her body from being able to do the normal recuperation it needs to do overnight. So she wakes up totally exhausted and it makes her feel like crap for the rest of the day. It really has become an endless cycle.

So the docs are going to up her oxygen tonight and see how she does with that. I guess she's literally waking up in the 60s first thing in the morning. A normal person really shouldn't go below 90, so clearly that is a huge cause for concern. She's pretty bummed out lately, and gets teary eyed every time I visit. I don't know how in the world she is managing, I would be a nervous wreck if I were in her shoes. It also bothers me a lot to hear her talk about the fact that she might not make it through this. It is so hard to consider the possibility of losing a friend so early in life.

But anyhow we were able to have a pretty long visit. She said that I put her in a good mood and bring her lots of my energy. I'm glad I am able to cheer her up! I definitely don't feel like I have a lot of energy to spare, but I'll give her what I can. I wish I could visit her more often, but damn, gas is expensive. Sigh, all the reason why I need a new job.

Anyhow, that's my update for tonight... not much else to say. I'm subbing tomorrow afternoon for 2nd graders, and then I have a long and boring choir rehearsal. I wish rehearsal could be more like an episode of Glee... now that would be super fun to sing my favorite pop song with other singers. Ah well, my super dork fantasies must be saved for another day.
