Where's My Motivation?

Blah. Blah is a fantastic word. It describes the exact way you feel about something with one quick and easy syllable.

I'm not upset, nor am I depressed. I am simply blah today. I can think of a million things I should be doing, but I lack the motivation to do any of them. So, I am feeling quite a bit of blah going on at the moment. For instance, I'd kind of like to get something sweet to eat, and I know there is a big bag of Reese's downstairs, but I lack the motivation to actually go downstairs and get one.

Speaking of things I did do today, I did go and get my new bike! I am excited because the last time I got a new bike, I was 12 years old. I loved my old bike, and it definitely stood the test of time! But it has seen better days, and you know, once you get to the point where the break lines are being held on by masking tape, it's time for a new bike. The breaks were getting to the point where they were shot, plus the bike had started shifting gears on it's own whenever I attempted to go uphill.... which was a pain in the butt. So in the end, I decided that if I were to return to camp this summer, it would include the purchase of a new bike.

Here is a picture of my new bike.

Sorry I couldn't get a bigger photo! I'm sure it will end up in my photo blog this summer :) My bike is exactly like this except it is a silvery blue and white. I like the purple one in this photo, but the blue one is nice too, and the purple one was not in stock. Ah well, such is life, and a blue bike will go quite will with my wardrobe. ;) I installed my new halogen lights and my old bike bell... pretty much I am ready for anything camp can throw at me while riding on that bike.

I bought my health lodge shoes yesterday. Health lodge shoes are aka shoes that are to be worn inside the health lodge only, that I can easily slip off quickly to put my sneakers back on for going outdoors. I got them at Target for $12.99 :) They are those soccer type sandals, that are black with pink soles, with pink stripes on the outer part of the shoe. Forget my certifications, the shoes are what make this official! :) I'm sure photos of me in my health lodge shoes will end up on my photo blog as well.

Well, I guess I should say a bit about May Weekend, since I posted photos of it! It went well, all in all. I mean, there was nothing incredible to speak of, but that is definitely a cool thing too. I am quite over "incredible" at this point in my life! I'll take the standard average experience of life, at least for now. The new UDs are all very laid back and introverted, but I think it is a good thing. Lord knows in the past there have been entirely too many loud mouths in the group. I did have moments where I felt completely out of place, though! Which is funny, because all those new UDs were probably looking at me, thinking that it must be nice to have done this before and feel completely in my element. Moving to a new job, even if I'm sure in the end it will work out fine, is a scary thing. When my boss Heidi was making reference to "as a UD you'll be dealing with..." I felt very strange being one of the few people in the room who was not a UD. It left me feeling slightly apprehensive... which I know was somewhat foolish on my part. Sigh. I know it will all work itself out in the end.

Am I a bad person for being soooo over my volunteering at the hospital? I mean, don't get me wrong, the people are all very nice, but it is so boring! I felt better getting a more involved job, but I still get bored quite a bit, and I feel almost out of place. Well, one more volunteer shift to go. I will survive! The better news is that there is just one more week of subbing! Woohoo. I really was worried about making the right decision to go to camp this summer, but in the end, I am quite glad that my summer will be completely filled up. I wouldn't know what to do with myself for the summer if I stayed here!

Blah days stink. I hate having that feeling because you don't know what to do with yourself.

Your bike is really nice! I have a crappy ole mountain bike, but it's at my parents house. So much for getting exercise! :P

And on a last note, you're going to do fine at camp. It's always the anticipation part that's the worst.

Thanks Robin! The logical side of me says it will all be fine, but sometimes that little inner voice that wants to make me feel small gets the better of me.
