Bring on Spring!
So many things have been on my mind as of late! I've been working full days every day this past week, so I haven't really had a lot of time to sit around and ponder life. (Actually, not having time to ponder life is probably a really good thing for me right now!) I had my last concert with the Flint Festival Chorus on Saturday. There is a big potluck dinner scheduled for the night of the 31st, but I haven't decided if I'm going to attend. I just think I'd feel socially awkward and uncomfortable with all the old biddies, and I'd probably prefer to skip out on it. So much for being not being anti-social!
We also had another Girl's Night on Friday, and it was fun. Unfortunately, two of the gang couldn't make it, so it just ended up being me and two of my other friends. My friend tried to make us these shooters which consisted of only a drop of Red Bull and a shot of Vodka... which was gross and tasted like drinking nothing but pure Vodka. Then she tried to make us amaretto sours, which came out entirely too sweet and were gross... so yeah. Basically it's safe to say that none of us ever went to bartending school! We talked and gossiped like we normally do, and discussed the need to find more friends to invite to our parties. In the end we decided that do we really need to invite more people? Isn't the five or six of us enough? At that point it's not so intimate and becomes a full scale party.
As for the other things on my mind... there is still an ongoing battle with roommate coworker. I'm not going to go on and on about the whole story... but basically we used to be friends, were roommates last summer, and now I can't really think about her with shaking my head. She's suddenly been very nice to me, as in leaving me nice private messages on Facebook, and sending me instant messages. This is all so out of the blue! Out of all the years we've known each other, all those years when we used to be friends, we never once ever talked via IM. Now suddenly every time I long on she's there sending me a message. I just don't get it. It would be my hope of hopes that after she spent last summer pretending to be oblivious to the tension between us, she's now trying to be a bigger person and bury the hatchet.
Somehow I have a sneaking suspicion that my boss Adrian made mention to her that I wasn't her biggest fan anymore. Knowing him like I think I do, I wouldn't doubt that he made a "friendly" suggestion to her to do what she could to make friends with me again. So where does that leave me? It's either one of three things at this point. Either she realizes her attitude was out of control last summer and wants to make it up to me, or she was truly oblivious to our tension last summer and therefore thinks there is nothing wrong between the two of us, or she's been instructed to be friendly with me. I just don't know how to take her at this point. I want the hatchet to be buried, but I have to say, if it's one of the latter two reasons that is making her suddenly nice, I'm not confident that this summer will be any better for the two of us.
And moving on once again... I went to the dentist today for my six month check up. Why is it that the dentist is so good at making you feel like you basically suck at life? I mean seriously! The hygienist went on and on about the fact that I'm a good brusher, but then she basically tells me that because I don't floss enough, I am in danger of getting gingivitis. I've had some swelling (it only occurred after I had some dental work, that I say is a cause of it, but the dentist seems to be of another opinion) at one spot of my gums which the hygienist says can be a sign of impending doom, or something along those lines. So she stuck me in the gums multiple times with some pointy thing to measure my gum line and swelling or something. I don't understand why one minute you're praising me for brushing my teeth well, and the next minute you're poking at me and shaking your head? Ahh... anyway, they want me to be "diligent" about flossing and using Listerine, and then apparently they'll be poking at my gums again to see if they are still just as healthy as they were before.
Okay and finally, two things. Number one, I caved over the weekend. I couldn't help myself, my sister had a 25% coupon for loyal customers that she gave me... and I bought an expensive Coach purse! But it's so cute... and they put it in a pretty box with a bow! (My sister said while we were in the store, "They've never offered to put my purse in a box!) Teddy successfully got mud all over it just a few minutes ago, and that's a problem since it's mostly fabric. Ah well, I guess I'll be taking a toothbrush to it later. I knew that Teddy's or Tabby's paws would make contact with it sooner or later. I took pictures of it in the pretty box, lol. It was truly like Christmas. I'll post those silly pictures some other time. The second thing is that my trip for Philly is officially a go! I'm going to buy my tickets next week! Woo hoo! Not only am I going to go to Philly, but me and my friend Orelia are officially planning a day trip to New York City!!! I've never been to Philly or New York, and I am beyond excited! I've always wanted to go to New York City, but couldn't imagine anytime in the near future having a chance or reason to go. LOL I also can't help but be amused at the thought of how jealous my sister is going to be when she hears the news, hehe. Yea! I'm so excited! Bring on spring!

Sorry for my overly LONG comment here...
Your girls night out sounds like SO much fun!! I've turned into such an old fuddy duddy lately. I need to get out and have fun. Maybe I should finally call my cousin and go out? She keeps giving me her new cell number whenever I see her. LOL!
Your friend sending you IM's the instant you sign on, sounds like another person {we both know}. *wink* *wink* :P
I hear ya on the dentist too! My particular dentist is annoying in that I get stuck with the same hygienist each time, and she lives near me so she is always asking if I go here or there. It's so annoying! It's like just freaking clean my teeth and get done with it!
Your purse is really cute! I saw your picture over at the forum. My most expensive purse I've only ever used like two times. I think I'll bring it out for Easter. Hehe!
Philly and NY? Jealous!!!!!
Ok, I'm done rambling here. -
