Sweet, Pink, Saturday

I can not stop yawning! I think it is safe to say that I will definitely be in bed before midnight tonight. Yesterday night, as in, Thursday night in to Friday morning, sleep hated me! No joke, I just could not sleep. I tried to go to bed early, but of course I just laid in bed tossing and turning. It was probably around 3am before I was finally able to sleep. And of course, it would be the one time I forgot to make myself unavailable for the day on the Subfinder line. So guess who got woke up at 5:45 am to take a sub job? Oh yeah, that would be me, the dork who forgot to at least turn her cell phone off. It wasn't until about 7:30am before I could fall asleep again, and then I woke up at 9am because I had a stomachache. After that I was up for good, and I think I managed about 4 or so hours of sleep. To top it off, I spent the day working around the house. I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned, and mopped and vacuumed. And why did I do all this? Because we were switching cable providers and my mom is totally neurotic about the house being spotlessly clean when a visitor comes, even if the visitor is only here to install cable!

So yes, we switched from Comcast to AT&T. So far it seems good, I mean the picture is much clearer, my DSL which was AT&T before has been upgraded, and we get a bunch of channels that we didn't have before. The downside? A few channels I liked are no longer on our cable. Mostly stuff that came from Detroit... but they took the CBC away!!! I almost had a hissy over that. In place of my beloved Canadian tv, we got BBC America... but how will I watch the Royal Canadian Air Farce, or the Mercer Report? Biggggg bummer.

In other news, I got up at the crack of dawn today (second day of running on little sleep, I feel like I am working at Blue Lake) and joined the honors fraternity I will hopefully become a member of, in a breast cancer walk. It was 3.5 miles, but it really didn't feel like that long of a walk! Really, it felt like it was about a mile. There were a TON of people! I couldn't believe how many people, actually! The MS walks get a good crowd together, but this was huge. I felt like a total dork because it didn't even occur to me to wear pink. In my defense, I knew Eta Sigma Gamma was planning on passing out shirts for us (green shirts with pink screenprint ribbons), but I could have threw on my pair of pink sweats. It was a great day for a walk, because the weather has been beautiful! The walk started at one of the local malls, and then it took us through a bike path (I didn't know it existed!) along the Flint River, and it was beautiful! All the pretty fall colors, and a sunny, 60 degree morning in October... it couldn't be any better! (On a side note, tomorrow's high is 78 degrees! How insane is that?)

And on another note, speaking of pink, look at what my friend showed me on Victoria's Secret website! How sweet is this stuff? Pink collegiate wear! I am dying because I totally want the super cute Michigan hoodie, but the thing is like $55! Ah geez.
