Chicago Drama!

So this could be considered part two of my previous post :)

Yes, I had a super fun date with S... lol and definitely was standing in the dark parking lot of UM-Flint (where we met up) kissing him around midnight! Haha, it was a very fun moment, especially considering it's been years since I kissed anyone! So that was midnight on Thursday... and Friday at 6am I had to be up to go to Chicago! Yeah... I wasn't really thinking that through too much, now was I? :) Needless to say, I really didn't get any sleep at all... and didn't really sleep on our bus ride to Chicago, either! Friday was a long day for sure, but very fun!

Friday afternoon around 1pm (central time), my friend Bernadette and I arrived at Union Station, and from there our Chicago adventure began! We immediately started doing a bit of shopping and sightseeing, and we of course hit up Giordano's for some authentic, Chicago-style deep dish pizza. Ooh... it was soooooooo good! I love pizza, and this is some of the best! After that, we walked to Grant and Millennium parks where we wandered around and enjoyed the views! You can see the coast of Lake Michigan from Grant Park, and it was so beautiful! Made me miss the summer, when I'm at camp and I take time off to visit Lake Michigan.

Anyhoo, we stayed with my friends Robin and Nathan, who are old friends of mine from camp who have been together for years and are finally getting married this summer. They met us at Union Station early Friday evening, and they took us to this crazy Italian tapas restaurant! The food was good, but some of the dishes were a little too "exotic" for Bernadette's tastes! We both actually liked the house red wine! Yea for finding a good wine! Robin and Nathan were very happy that we liked the wine, and insisted on a bottle going around for the rest of the evening. We definitely had a nice, warm, wine buzz going by the end of dinner. :)

And Saturday, my old friend, Mr. Crush as I think I've labeled him before, met up with me and Bernadette since Robin and Nathan had other plans for the day. We spent the day together just having fun, doing lots of sightseeing and shopping down Michigan Avenue. It was fun, and he and I are really good friends... so it was a pretty easy-going afternoon. Or, it should have been a very nice, and easy going afternoon! Every time Mr. Crush (I'm going to label him as "D" for the sake of making this more simple) was out of earshot, Bernadette insisted on whispering to me about how in love he was with me. Oy!!! Bernadette has no idea about any past feelings I may have had for D, or he may have had for me, so I was very shocked when Bernadette immediately picked up on something between the two of us. I denied her comments, and tried to play it off, but I could tell she could see right through me.

This would be why a simple and fun trip turned in to a bit of drama. D was clearly showing that he wanted to spend the entire day with me... but yet the two of us have never truly been able to come to a common ground about our feelings for one another! And here I was, less than 48 hours ago making out with some other guy, and now suddenly D comes flooding back in to the picture. So... I like S, but D was and is my first love... so what do I do? I definitely spent Sunday very quiet... lost in my own thoughts about the two of them.

We left Robin's apartment on Sunday morning (not before Robin and Nathan who are both friends with D decided to drill me on our "day" together), and bid farewell to Downer's Grover (the suburb that Robin lives in.) Bernadette and I finished up our day by walking from Union Station to N. Michigan Ave (quite a looooooong walk if you aren't familiar with Chicago!), going to the Art Institute, and finishing up with lunch and shopping on the Magnificent Mile. After that, we took a taxi back to Union Station where we caught our bus for the drive back home.

:) So it was a really fun trip, and I want to post pictures, but I'm having some technical difficulties with my laptop right now (just ordered a new one, super excited!). The pictures are all on my laptop, so... can't upload them right now. But they're all posted on Facebook if you would like to take a peek! Now my head is super confused with stupid, stupid, boys! I like S, but I know I love D... something's gotta give! I can't believe I've went from a completely boring life, to now being in the midst of self-made drama. What's worse? My mom is starting to suspect something is up with me... and this is so not something I'm willing to share with her! Basically I'm counting down the days to camp, because I can get away from home and try to figure this drama out, once and for all.
