Just call me the lazy blogger of late! I've clicked on my blog a few times to try to come up with an update of some sorts, but clearly I haven't had much to say! My brain is a jumble of thoughts lately, and none of them really want to come out in an organized fashion.

Let's see here. What's going on in my life? Last weekend I went down to Ann Arbor to go to U of M's prospective students day for the School of Public Health. I am intrigued by the thought of doing a PhD, but there are as many pros as cons. Like, how much is this going to cost? Everyone talks about fellowships and grants and being research assistants and teaching assistants... and blah. Can't someone come up with a cheat guide to finance this? Maybe there is one on Amazon, who knows. Four more years of school, do I have that kind of energy, when already I feel like my grad program is starting to wear on me? Ah. I think I've decided that this year is not the time to apply for a PhD program, and that perhaps I'd like to apply next year. But then my brain says that that's just added an extra year of delay, and wouldn't it be better to just get it all out of the way? Blah.

I'm also waiting to hear about a possible internship for the winter (possibly now?). To sum it up quickly, it's an intervention program targeted at youth who have a parent incarcerated. Basically it's a program teaching them coping skills, and how to flourish physically and mentally even though life has dealt them a pretty crappy hand. Sounds interesting, but one of the possible internships includes doing group visits at the county jail! Eeek! I hate to sound like a jerk, but I'd rather pass on that one. I'm all for working with kids and their parents, but I'd rather not do that at the jail. Well, I guess it could be the state prison... So we'll see how that goes. There are also some internships for the program that would require me to do some work at the School of Public Health in Ann Arbor. While those seem better suited for me, I really don't want to have to drive to Ann Arbor multiple times a week in the winter! So both have their pros and cons. Ah, in either instance, I need to go shopping once for an interview suit, something my wardrobe has been lacking!

In other news of my life, it looks like we should be scheduled to move in to our new apartment on November 15th! I should be excited... but I'm rather neutral on the whole thing right now. I'm already busy with school and whatnot, so packing and whatnot is just another thing to add to the to-do list. Don't get my wrong, I'm very happy to be getting my own place, (and it is a sweet apartment), but yeah, right now that's almost a month away. A month seems like far off (even though I know it's right around the corner.)

And it's also that time of year again to hear about... next summer. Yes, that's right, I've already seen multiple posts on facebook from people I worked with this summer about getting an email asking them to keep next summer on the horizon. I haven't gotten one of those emails because I am summmer administration, which means I've moved past the mass email phase. They tend to handle me with kid gloves, which is flattering, but also annoying at the same time! Ah, anyhoo, I expect to be getting a personalized email very soon. That being said, here is a newsclip about camp that my friend found, that originially aired on CNN in May! Can't believe I didn't know it existed until now. And no, it's not about swine flu, like the last time.
