My 10 Latest Obsessions

This post was inspired by Evonne and Robin! Nothing overly interesting is going on in my life right now, so I thought I'd do a fun post, even if it is a bit of fluff.

Really, these are in no particular order, just as I think of them.

1. Lush beauty products. I bought some of the bath and shower bombers in Chicago at the Lush store at Macy's on Michigan Ave... OMG how much do I love them? It's like an fizzy explosion of aroma and bath oil. LOVE IT! I just wish it wasn't so damn expensive.

2. Speaking of Chicago... Chicago! I keep pondering if I'd possibly like to make Chicago my home in the next few years. I've got some great friends there, and I like the energy. Plus, overall, not too far away from home, but just far enough.

3. My iPod. Yes, my little first generation iPod Nano has taken a many of beatings, but it keeps on ticking (unlike my P.O.S. cell phone!). I pretty much use it everyday. If something happened to it, I'd cry.

4. Glee. If you're not watching Glee, you need to! And I'm not just saying that because I'm a choir dork, I'm saying it because it is AWESOME!!!! Best new show to debut in years. Here's a good link for what you're missing... Yahoo! Article all about Glee

5. Count Chocula. Yes, chocolate cereal with chocolate marshmallows. And how could I not be obessed with that? It's awesome, my favorite cereal! And it's almost like finding a needle in a haystack at the store! Thankfully they sell a lot of it around Halloween, so I bought three boxes at Kroger. :)

6. YouTube. Specifically making playlists of my favorite songs on YouTube. It's a great way to listen to all the songs you love without having to download music!

7. Speaking of music... The Beatles! I have always loved the Beatles, but for some reason I can not get enough of them lately. Everyday I listen to Hey Jude and Dear Prudence at least a few times.

8. Halloween. :) I have loved Halloween ever since I can remember, because my mom was always into it and made it super fun for us. I've already arranged plans with my friends to go and see Paranormal State, and go to a haunted house the night for Halloween plans. I can't wait! My friend Bernadette and I picked out super cool masks we want to wear for the occasion... it should  be super fun. :)

9. Sigg water bottles. Well specifically, my knock off Sigg water bottle stamped with the camp's logo on it. I got it as a gift this summer, and I love it! I don't know why I seem to drink more water from that bottle than I normally would consume if it were in a glass in front of me.

10. School, and my thesis. Specifically, how the heck I'm going to use choral music as a health promotion activity to help kids gain self esteem and be empowered to change their health behaviors. Ack... I might be in over my head a bit. And with that, PhD programs. I'm feeling like it's something I want to do, but it's so intimidating thinking of going through another round of applying for schools. University of Michigan? UNC Chapel Hill? Johns Hopkins? And four more years of work, and a dissertation? Am I insane???

Fun list!

I have heard so much about Glee and really want to see it but I don't currently have tv. (I'm a total Netflix girl) I wonder if it's available online?

I LOVE Halloween too! I'm so excited! Your plans sound like fun!

I have never thought about making a YouTube playlist. Great idea!

I have a couple of Glee's on the DVR to catch up on. I guess maybe I'm not as into musical-ish type shows as I hoped. I watched the first two episodes and was like "eh..." Although the football players dancing to Beyonce was pretty freakin' awesome!

How do you make playlists of songs on YouTube? Do you go and search for your favorite songs and listen to them? I'm slow... pardon the dumb question.

Yeah Robin, basically I just find a video for the song I like, and then you can click below the video to add it to a playlist. I've got various playlists created, and I can select to have all the videos play, or even have them play in shuffle. So I'll set the videos to play, and minimize my browser, so I can still listen to the music.
