Throwback Friday... and fun at Blackstone's and Churchill's :)

Okay, technically, it's Saturday... however, since I have not went to bed yet, I'm still calling this as a Friday post. And I can do that, because I make the rules for NaBloPoMo for my blog!

Today... oh today. Okay, so I admit, I'm a little buzzed right now, so who knows what I'll end up blogging about? I went with some girls from school to a fun bar and grill downtown called Blackstone's, and when things got boring there, we followed it up by hitting a little dive bar called the Torchlight, and then followed it up with a college pub called Churchill's. :) During my undergrad, the only bar really to go to was Churchill's, and I wasn't really a bar type of girl, so I never went! But now, with the dorms having been built, there are lots of really cool places to go downtown! It's so nice to finally see downtown Flint being turned in to an awesome place to hang out. We had drinks, played pool, discussed our classmates and professors, and overall had a fantastic night of it. It's funny that I feel much more like the stereotypical college girl now then I ever did as an undergrad.

Alright, so what I want to do on Fridays for my blog is what I'll call "Throwback Friday." I'm going to go back and describe my life, in multiples of five years.

So the first "Throwback Friday" is five years ago, which would have been November of 2004. I was a second year (and last year!) senior at the University of Michigan-Flint. I was wrapping up my Bio degree, and I remember off hand that I would have had been in Biostats that semester, as well as Wildlife Illustrations. Biostats was boring, but it's ironic seeing as in January I will be taking it yet again (snooze!) for my grad program. Wildlife Illustrations was a great class for me, because it combined art with Biology. I learned how to charcoal, stipple, and learned how to properly photograph plants, animals, and everything inbetween. I also got to go in the lab and develop my own film, which I still think was a super cool experience.

Let's see... my best friend of course besides for my sister was Bernadette... and my best friend at school was LaToya, who is currently in her last year of dental school! So she's soon to be Dr. LaToya, dentist extrodinare. I still keep in touch with her, via Facebook! My other friends at that time would have been Carmen, Rhonda, Porsha, Tonica, and Keonnie. Those girls were so much fun! We used to have big study groups, and our favorite place to hit up was La Famillia, this Mexican restaurant near campus that had awesome tacos. :)  I still keep up with some of them on Facebook, too.

And as far music goes, I would have been really in to Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Maroon 5, Usher, and Gavin DeGraw. Oh, good times, good times. Good memories. Life was good then. I had wrapped up my first summer as a Unit Director at camp, my sister had gotten married in April, and life was good, if not a bit boring!

Okay that's all I got though, kinda feel like I could snooze at any moment, and I can't believe with the amount of alcohol I've had tonight I was able to put together such a coherant blog!
