I literally forgot to blog the last few nights, so I think this might be my most unsuccessful NaBloPoMo since I started participating in them!
Did I mention the Christmas tree is up? We put it in front of our balcony window, and it looks really pretty! I'll have to upload some photos soon.
We got a decent first snow of the year! I've heard there were a lot of power outages south of here in the Detroit area, but our county didn't get hit too horribly. In fact, our county didn't close any schools, even though the neighboring counties did. You would think that would mean I would have worked today, right? Nope... didn't get a job. I'm so stressed about money that I'm almost making myself sick over it. I need a light at the end of the tunnel. I was looking forward to the opportunity to work in the county school districts, but they said it will probably be 3 weeks before they process my application! So annoying. So I think that pretty much means I won't be working outside of Flint until after Christmas.
Speaking of Christmas, I'm not sure if I'll be able to do any big gifts this year. Big means anything that costs $20 or more. I found this site: http://littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com/2008/12/hot-choclate-mix-in-jar-really-cute-jar.html, and I plan to put together cute little jars of cocoa for my parents and sister. I got the jars on sale at Michael's for a little more than a dollar a piece. Hopefully with some stashed ribbon, some wrapping paper, and a glue gun, I can make something cute. What sucks is that my sister's birthday is right before Christmas, so I need to think of a gift for her, and I did want to give Bernadette something as well. I really do wish in some instances, money could grow on trees.
Well, hopefully something will be around the corner for December. One can only hope!
