Yawning Myself Through the Day

These few days after Thanksgiving have really been a snoozefest around here! I've been trying to stay awake for the last hour with little success. The good news for today is that I'm 50% through my to do list, but the bad news is that I did all the easy stuff, such as returning a call, sending an email, and running a few errands for my mom. The stuff I really could care less about doing is still on my to do list.

I've taken to bribing myself! I've told myself that I can have a piece of leftover pie if I get the outline for my paper done. Seeing as I would really like to have some pie, I think I made a good deal with myself! Now, as soon as I finish with blogging, I'm going to get that outline done so I can treat myself to some pie!

We're slowly getting in to the Christmas spirit around here! Besides for things I must get done, I'm also trying to clean and dust so that Christmas decorations can come out. While I did some errands for my mother this afternoon, she was clearing some things out in the living room and dining room. She mentioned something about possibly putting up the tree tonight, but somehow I don't think we'll accomplish that tonight! I think our turkey coma hasn't worn off enough for anything requiring too much energy.

I picked out a new Christmas template for my Myspace page, and even changed my profile song to "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." I've downloaded some Christmas music that I plan on putting on my iPod, and I've even picked out a Christmas template for my blog! (I definitely do not have the energy to tackle my blog template today, just taking the time to pick the template I plan to use was all the energy I could manage.)

On a side note, Robin made mention to the fact that tomorrow is the last day of NaBloPoMo. I guess I mentally comprehended that, but I wasn't really giving much thought to tomorrow being the last day! There were a few days there in the middle that I felt like I had hit a wall, but now blogging everyday doesn't seem like much of a challenge. That's not to say that I'll be blogging everyday in December, but I think NaBloPoMo overall was easier than I thought it would be this year.

Finally, here is a little pic I used as my Myspace profile picture... me with Santa in 1987, which would have made me five years old. :) Santa doesn't look too entralled, but I was trying very hard not to be nervous talking to this "helper" of Santa's. As my mother explained to me, the real Santa can't come to every shopping mall, so he sends his helpers out... but the real Santa works at Bronners, because Frankenmuth is closer to the North Pole. Hahaha.

Pie sounds really yummy. As crappy as I feel, I might go have a piece of my leftover pumpkin cheesecake. :-P

Speaking of decorations, I'm thankful I have the tree up already. I could not muster an ounce of energy to do any of it now. But we still have the outside to do. And I swear my next door neighbor, ever since he got married, I'm convinced his wenchy wife tries to 'out decorate' us. I know I shouldn't give a flip, but it bugs me anyway.

That is such a cute picture of you and Santa!

Wow, that is a cranky looking Santa! LOL! :D

You look so cute, though--look at those cheeks! :) Awww.

What a good idea about rewarding yourself! If I had only had a piece of pie the past two days as a reward, I'd have gotten a LOT done, LOL.

Freaking LOVE that picture! I want to squeeze your cheeks! Though the santa not only looks unthrilled, but like 14 years old. It's a good thing the real guy was over at Bronners! ;)

The pie was really yummy, but I keep thinking its going to make my stomach hurt! And the weight I've put on over the last few days... I need to leave the pie alone!

LOL Thanks girls. Unfortunately, I still have those baby cheeks 20 years later! Yeah, I guess Santa had had one too many kids sitting on his lap that day....

And my mom was right, the Santa at Bronners was awesome. :)
