I spent New Year's Eve at my friend Andrea's house, or rather, her parents house. Her parents had went out of town, but Andrea swore they were aware that she was having a get together at their house. Actually, knowing her parents, I'm sure they were completely fine with the whole thing. Anyhow, she had our friends, and almost all of her cousins there (she's got this huge extended family... 21 first cousins alone), for a fun night of board games and food.
So far 2009 has rolled in like a lamb. My winter break was nice while it lasted, but I was starting to go a bit stir crazy with nothing to do! It's funny how when you're so busy, all you can think about is wanting a break, but when you get a break, all you want is something to do. I had class yesterday, which was an odd experience! So far, all of my grad classes have been just that, grad classes. Everyone in my classes were either Health Ed. majors like me, or Health Care Admin or something similar. This class I had last night, was one of those grad classes that double counts as an undergrad class. Basically, there were ten lonely grad students with about 100 or more undergrads.
We all got together in the first half of the class for a group lecture, then our sections (split in to two) moved to our own classrooms where we had more of an in-depth discussion. The thing that surprised me most was that in this class, only me and another girl were grad students.... the other eight had the other class! I'm fine with being in an undergrad class, but seeing as the grad students will have to go the extra step of giving a presentation at the end, it would be nice to be in the section with the rest of them. Oh well, what can I do? At least my other two classes (one today and one Thursday) will be all grad students so I won't have to be worried about not being able to discuss my project with the other students.

Moving on, my biggest dilemma right now is trying to find a restaurant for my birthday dinner! I mean, I could pick my same favorite restaurant that we go to time and time again, but I don't know. It would be nice to do something different... but what? I didn't want to have a big thing this year, just dinner and a movie with the girls. But I just don't know where to go! Restaurants in this city are truly lacking. If we were just going for lunch somewhere I could probably think up a few good places, but dinner is another story. Oh well, maybe the good old standard will be the good old place once again. We'll see.
