So... I'm back from camp! I had written about three paragraphs of a new blog a few hours back... but somehow I accidentally deleted it (my new laptop is super sensitive, I have to be careful when I type too fast because I end up doing some type of quick key function). So anyhow, I got annoyed, and decided to come back to blogging later. :)
And now here I am... listening to my playlist on YouTube. In case you're interested (you're probably not, haha), this current playlist is as follows...
1. I Write Sins Not Tragedies - Panic! At The Disco
2. Circus - Britney Spears
3. Thinking of You - Katy Perry
4. Viva La Vida - Coldplay
5. Slow Dancing in a Burning Room - John Mayer
6. Over My Head (Cable Car) - The Fray
7. Chasing Pavements - Adele
8. Rockferry - Duffy
9. Everything is Everything - Lauryn Hill
10. Fidelity - Regina Spektor
11. You Were Meant for Me - Jewel
12. No Air - Jordin Sparks ft. Chris Brown
13. 1,2,3,4 - The Plain White T's
14. Battlefield - Jordin Sparks
15. Crash Into Me - Dave Matthews Band
Yes... my music choices are a bit eclectic, I'm aware. :) But all good stuff, in my opinion, anyhow!
So... I've been doing a whole lot of nothing! That's what happens when you've been running on only six hours of sleep at night for the last 3 months straight, and working 15+ hours all day, everyday! But such is the nature of camp. This was the HARDEST summer I've ever experienced at camp! It was just one disaster after another this summer.
Let's see... first it was five of the staff for the international choir tour getting fired for drinking on camp (which was incredibly stupid because they had all been former staff leaders and KNEW better, but somehow thought they were above the rules...), the entire IYSO (International Youth Symphony Orchestra) being canceled because a few kids tested positive for swine flu... thus not allowing them to fly out of the country, and causing the camp to take a loss of over a hundred thousand dollars... and this was all during orientation! Then we had to change all our health protocols on a dime because of swine flu... there was a kid that I was greatly exposed to who did have Swine flu, so I was given tamiflu... then we had two health staff members up and quit on us... we had as my boss described it "the weakest group of Unit Directors in camp history," and HUGE staff turnover, with a large number of people either getting fired or up and quitting.
And yes, that is the very SHORT version of what was a very LONG summer. I feel like I've ran 10 marathons. This is why I've spent my time since Monday evening in my pajamas, eating food, sleeping, gabbing on the phone to Scott, listening to music, taking long baths, playing on Facebook, and doing a whole lot more of nothing. And now Teddy is getting very jealous of my blogging, so I think I will call it a night! More blogs to come... I'm so glad to be home!
