Lemons and Lemonade

So I'm back from camp! I got home early Monday evening. I went to dinner with my friends, and then I promptly came home and slept for 10 hours! If there is one thing I've learned, it's that there is nothing like sleeping after spending a summer working at camp.

So I basically bummed it around all of yesterday. I did nothing but eat, sleep, and watch tv. I had this grand plan of spending the entire week doing nothing, but after spending 3 months working 17 hours and up in a day, it is driving me crazy to have nothing to do. So I rolled myself out of bed this morning at a decent hour, made a big breakfast, unpacked some of my things, and made my way to the bank. I plan to scrub down the bathroom in a little while.

I would also like to work out later today, seeing as I gained 10lbs at camp! Weight gain is always to be expected there, but geez! 10 freaking pounds. It's all the lack of sleep, horribly processed food, stress, etc that makes me gain weight while I'm there. I was so happy with where my weight was when I left in June, so I'm not super thrilled that my jeans feel tight right now. And seeing as I refuse to go and buy new jeans, I'm going to have to work this weight off.

So there was a little something that happened about a week or two before I left for camp, that I don't think I blogged about. My ex-boyfriend (read: ex-douchebag) suddenly was super interested in me, and was begging me to go to Ohio to come and visit him. Which ps, he was pretty much just propositioning me! Of course I flat out told him no, especially since a little Facebook snooping told me that he had visited his ex-after-me-girlfriend about a month prior... in Kansas! Part of the excuse he came up with when we broke up was that we were too far apart, and then he goes and dates a girl in Kansas. Anyhow, that's not really the point here... the point is he's a jerk.

Today when I log onto Facebook I see some lovey-dovey profile picture of him with said ugly girlfriend... which means they're back together again. And I don't know why this stuff still pisses me off, but it does. I don't want him... I don't want to be with anyone who had the ability to tell me that they loved me and then hurt me in such awful ways with no regard to me at all. So why does it still bother me, and hurting my feelings? I can't understand my brain sometimes. I had a fantastic summer at camp, and did a lot of great work. I came back on Monday on a complete life high... and suddenly I feel all down about myself again, just because of Douchebag McGee. The only thing that makes me feel better is that I know he is a lying, cheating jerk, and I'm glad I realize that, unlike current girlfriend. A year ago, this little thing would make me spend the next two days crying, but instead I'll probably be pissed off for a few hours.

And so I figure, that whole situation is like life giving me lemons... I've made lemonade, but go figure, I still hate the taste of lemonade. So I'm selling it back to douchebag, and I'm going to walk away with a smile and his money in my pocket. An interesting way to think about it, but in a strange way, that's exactly what I'm doing.

Yes, that is the trick of it. . . realizing when not to waste your time on d-bags! It's kind of freeing, giving them back what they dish out, and saving your time for yourself, or other good people who deserve it.

Exactly what Heather said! Don't waste any tears over a d-bag.
